General Provisions of the Civil Law

Zou Hailin, General Provisions of the Civil Law, Beijing: Law Press China, 2018.

This book discusses the content, the structure, the institutional system, the interpretation and application logic of the Chinese civil law. The development of Chinese civil law began with the adoption of the General Principles of the Civil Law and culminates at the adoption of the General Provisions of the Civil Law.The book tries to establish organic linkages between classic civil law terminologies (concepts), institutional system, and the localized order of life in China, and holds that the purpose of General Provisions of the Civil Law (the codification of the civil law) is not to construct, reform or innovate, but to record with lower cost and more inclusive institutional space the order of social life in the market economic environment in China formed in the thirty years of reform and opening up to the outside world.
